What if WoW never returned?

I like to get work done on Tuesday mornings because the WoW servers are always offline during that time.   I was very productive today…too productive.  The servers were supposed to be back on at noon, but here it is after five and they’re still offline.  On top of it all, Gmail was offline during all of this.  Some people had access, some didn’t.  (Honestly, if they knew what they were doing, none of them would’ve gone without access because there’s more than one way to de-fur a feline.)   While I was sitting there (surprisingly bored) with Gmail and WoW offline, it got me thinking: What if they never returned?  People pay nothing to use Gmail, but hundreds of millions of people use it.  With their new replacement for the abominable Microsoft Office finally making life easier for millions of users, it makes it that much more important to stay online.  And if you think people are serious about their office documents, try pwning n00bs in WoW.  I can’t imagine what the world would be like if the WoW servers ever went offline.  It’d be like the end of the freakin’ world.
